Ductless mini-split units come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and is basically a small heating/ cooling unit that is placed on the wall (or ceiling). This indoor air-handling unit (evaporator) is fixed up onto one outdoor unit, and each indoor unit is managed with its own thermostat. Additionally, what's great about these systems is that they bring fresh air directly inside, so none of it is recycled through ductwork.
